Anthony Mackie Hilariously Blames Tom Holland For Being Cut From Spider-Man: Far From Home

Spider-Man: Far From Home is mere days away from hitting theaters, which means the Marvel press tour is in full swing. Earlier this week, an interview with Kevin Feige revealed that Sam Wilson nearly made his Captain America debut in the Spider-Man standalone sequel, but it was cut from the script before it was even filmed. Now, Falcon actor Anthony Mackie has taken to Twitter to place that blame squarely on Tom Holland.

“Sh*t. REALLY?! Way to go Tom Holland to mess that one up!,” Mackie said on Twitter after details about his cut cameo publicly reached him. The actor also included an eye rolling emoji for good measure, which you can see below.

Of course, Mackie is clearly kidding, as the two Marvel actors are great friends who usually take the time to troll each other in assorted red carpet interviews and press junkets.

At this point, Mackie has pretty much become the king of one-scene Avengers cameos, suiting up in a limited capacity for both Avengers: Age of Ultron and Ant-Man. So, why didn’t he appear in Far From Home? Turns out that while the Captain America cameo was written into the script as equal bits connective tissue and fan service, it was ultimately removed because the film is about Peter Parker’s journey of self-reliance in the wake of Tony Stark’s death. After all, why would Nick Fury turn to an inexperienced Spider-Man if Captain America were readily available?

But fans won’t have to wait that much longer to see Wilson don the iconic shield, as Falcon and the Winter Soldier is set to start shooting in Atlanta later this fall. The Disney Plus series comes in the wake of the Steve Rogers’ controversial decision to hand the reins of Capitan America over to the Falcon in Avengers: Endgame instead of his long-time friend Bucky, a plot thread I’m sure the show will at least somewhat delve into.

Meanwhile, you can catch Tom Holland in theaters next week, when Spider-Man: Far From Home swings onto the big screen on July 2nd. The movie is set to have a major impact on the Marvel Cinematic Universe going forward, despite the lack of Sam Wilson, so be sure to check back in with us for more insight once it premieres.

Listen To Indian Muslims' "Mann Ki Baat": Jama Masjid Shahi Imam To PM

Jama Masjid's Shahi Imam Syed Ahmed Bukhari on Friday expressed concerns over the "storm of hatred" in the country, and urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to listen to the 'Mann Ki Baat' of Muslims. Citing recent incidents like the Nuh riots and the killing of four persons by a railway police jawan on a running train, Ahmed Bukhari suggested in his Friday sermon at the historic mosque that PM Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah hold dialogue with intellectuals from the community. "I have been compelled to speak due to the existing situation in the country. The situation in the country is worrisome and a storm of hatred is posing grave danger to peace in the country," Ahmed Bukhari said. "You say your 'Mann Ki Baat' but you also need to listen to the 'Mann Ki Baat' of Muslims. The Muslims are troubled due to the prevailing conditions and worried about their future," Ahmed Bukhari said, referring to PM Modi's monthly radio pro...
