50th CJI DY Chandrachud 'accidental lawyer', followed in dad's footsteps

Justice Dhananjaya Yeshwant Chandrachud took oath in the name of God as he was sworn in by President Draupadi Murmu as the 50th Chief Justice of India, creating the historic milestone of a father-son duo heading the Indian judiciary 37 years, two months and 28 days apart. His father Yeshwant Vishnu Chandrachud was sworn in as CJI on February 28, 1978 and retired on July 11, 1985, holding a record tenure of seven years, four months and 19 days.
