"Should Not Shower Suryavanshi With...": Dravid's Blunt Take On Wonderkid

Rahul Dravid doesn't want microscopic attention on 14-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi following his path-breaking hundred in the IPL but having said that, the Rajasthan Royals head coach knows it is something that he can't control. Having received a barrage of questions on Suryavanshi in the Star Sports Press Room on Wednesday, Dravid realised that the cricketing world will not be leaving the talented teenager alone from now onwards. The Bihar teen will have to find a way to handle this overnight stardom, he said. In the interaction, the former India head coach also touched upon Suryavanshi's special skills that make him a formidable T20 batter at such a young age before adding that he remains very much a work in progress. "I think it won't be possible to completely sort of avoid him from the experience that is around him. I can't control what people are talking about him. I have come to this interaction and all I have heard is questions about Vaibhav," s...

'Fearing Future Without Babies', Students 'Race' Sperm In Los Angeles

A commentator yells excitedly as hundreds of spectators stand glued to a video of a racecourse -- but the athletes they are rooting for are actually tiny sperm cells. The unusual sport was invented by 17-year-old high schooler Eric Zhu, who raised over a million dollars to organise the event to call attention to male infertility. Zhu said he was inspired by social media posts that claim average sperm counts had halved over the past 50 years. Fearing that "there could be this dystopian future where no one will be able to make babies," Zhu said he wanted to use the competition to highlight the importance of reproductive health. Scientists have not reached a consensus on whether humanity has experienced a dramatic drop in sperm count, with studies showing conflicting results. At the Los Angeles event on Friday night, a man in a lab coat used pipettes to place samples of semen -- collected from contestants ahead of time -- onto tiny two-millimetre long "tracks." T...

Sehwag Gives Big Warning To Suryavanshi, It Has A 'Virat Kohli' Twist

Vaibhav Suryavanshi has made history in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 season, becoming the youngest player to play in the tournament. The 14-year-old made a sensational mark in his very first innings, smashing a six off his first ball. But while he made a 20-ball 34 in his first knock, he could manage just 16 off 12 in his second match, against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB). Legendary former India opener Virender Sehwag has advised Suryavanshi to keep his feet on the ground and not get carried away by fame, as well as take inspiration from Virat Kohli . Sehwag warned Suryavanshi to remain grounded and accept criticism regarding his game, regardless of fame. "If you step out knowing that you will get praised for doing well and criticised for not doing well, you will remain grounded. I have seen many players who come, get fame from one or two matches, then they do not do anything, because they think that they have become a star player," Sehwag stated, speaking on ...

Watch: Kishan's Huge Brain-Fade, Walks Off Despite Being Not Out vs MI

Ishan Kishan had a massive brain-fade moment during SunRisers Hyderabad's IPL 2025 match against Mumbai Indians in Hyderabad on Wednesday. The incident was so bizarre that the commentators said that they had not seen anything like this. It happened on the first ball of the third over. Deepak Chahar's delivery angled down the leg side and was caught by wicketkeeper MI Ryan Rickleton. Everything seemed normal, but just then Ishan Kishan started walking off. He, however, stopped mid-way. Just then the MI players enquired for a catch. The umpire who had his hand partially raised, gave Kishan out. "Too Many Holidays": CEO's Post Sparks Debate On Productivity In India

A LinkedIn post by the CEO of a Hyderabad-based company has stirred debate on India's productivity levels and the impact of frequent holidays on work momentum. Ravikumar Tummalacharla, founder and CEO of Cleanrooms Containments, claimed that the number of public and optional holidays in India is slowing down business operations and affecting efficiency. In his post, Mr Tummalacharla said, "Too many holidays, no work moving! The overload of public and optional holidays, combined with weekends, often brings work to a standstill. In just April 2025, we've had 10+ holidays, and most offices are seeing no file movement for weeks." The post, accompanied by a list of April holidays, called for a reassessment of India's holiday calendar, urging Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Labour Ministry to intervene. How Italy's Meloni May Save Europe From Trump Tariffs As All Others Fail

Italy's PM Giorgia Meloni will fly to Washington to speak with US President Donald Trump regarding tariffs on Europe. The tariffs will potentially be a lethal blow to Italian exporters.  However, her counterparts from Europe feel she may be the only European leader Trump might be willing to listen to, since Trump had said that she is "a fantastic leader and person", when he invited her to this inauguration ceremony in January. Other European leaders have tried to change the US President's mind through various means - flattery, threats or promises to buy more American gas, but the talks reached nowhere. Currently the European Union has three months to convince Trump not to slap 20 per cent duties on all its exports to the United States, apart from the baseline 10 per cent tariff with another 25 per cent on steel, aluminium and autos. As Meloni speaks to Trump on Thursday, it is Europe's opportunity to show that they can still do business with the US. Moreover sh...

But, when the Americans left, the double game could not be sustained." Donald Trump has followed through on his threat of "additional 50 per cent tariffs" on China starting Wednesday. The White House announced that this will make America's new tariff on China an unprecedented 104 per cent. President Trump had given China 24 hours to roll back or "withdraw" the retaliatory 34 per cent tariff it imposed on US goods, failing which Chinese goods would be punished with 104 per cent tariffs. Beijing dared Washington to do so earlier today. Within hours Donald Trump announced it. The US used to tariff China at 10 per cent till last month, which President Trump said, "robbed" the US economy of billions and billions of dollars. Then the US President announced his "reciprocal tariff" move - wherein the US would charge other countries roughly half the tariff that nation charged the US. Hotmail's Sabeer Bhatia Slams Indian Engineers: "99% Just Give Gyaan"

In a recent podcast, Sabeer Bhatia, co-founder of Hotmail, raised concerns about India's engineering education system and work culture, pointing to a lack of hands-on experience, critical thinking, and real innovation. “99% of Indian engineering graduates move into management roles and start giving ‘gyaan' to everyone. But where's the work ethic? Where are the people building real products with their own hands?” Mr Bhatia asked. He criticised the glorification of business figures who focus on outsourcing over genuine software development. “We celebrate people who promote body shopping, not original software. Somehow, they become India's software gurus—despite not writing any code themselves.” Mr Bhatia emphasized that for India to become a truly innovative nation, it must rethink how it values technical skills. “Till we change our work ethic and we actually start doing work with our own hands and start respecting people who write software, who write code, who do thin...

Gujaratis Make Electoral Debut In Canada As Punjabis Seek Re-Election

Gujaratis have emerged as a major bloc, even as Punjabis remain a force to be reckoned with in Canada's political sphere, as immigrants of Indian origin steadily gain ground in the North American country which will hold federal elections later this month. The Indian diaspora in Canada is vibrant and diverse - from Punjabis and Gujaratis, to Bengalis and Malayalis. While most migrants within the Indian-Canadian community are either students or highly-skilled employees, Gujaratis and Punjabis usually have a business background. He was then jailed. On April 1, Mallige was found in Madikeri by a friend of Suresh, who saw her with another man. The matter was brought to the notice of the Fifth A...
