Joss Whedon Got All Emotional While Watching Avengers: Endgame

Joss Whedon was once the big cheese of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, being the one Kevin Feige trusted to write and direct The Avengers back in 2012. Likewise, he also consulted on several Phase One movies – including an uncredited contribution to the script of Captain America: The First Avenger – and helmed Avengers: Age of Ultron. However, Whedon left the Marvel universe behind in 2015.

He’s still being wowed by their movies, though. It appears the filmmaker just got around to seeing Avengers: Endgame today as he took to Twitter to give his succinct thoughts on the third sequel to his original team-up film, and it seems it left him pretty emotional. “Endgame. Guys. Jesus.,” he wrote, followed by the hashtag “#noYOUcried.”

We’re pretty sure most fans can relate to Whedon’s reaction to Endgame. It’s probably especially moving if you helped kick off these characters’ journeys in the MCU. Whedon may also be pleased to see how many elements from his films are revisited here (Hawkeye’s family, Tony’s apocalyptic vision, Cap with Thor’s hammer) and, of course, all those Avengers callbacks.

Whedon was similarly blown away by Avengers: Infinity War last year, revealing at the time that he was impressed with how well the Russos and writers Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely handled the character of Thanos. Though he was responsible for introducing the Mad Titan into the MCU at the end of The Avengers, Whedon admitted he wouldn’t have known how to tackle the villain for the big screen.

The director originally left Marvel due to the intense production of Ultron, in which he and producers clashed over creative differences (Whedon wanted more character stuff like the farmhouse scene, but the studio wanted more set-up of the Infinity Stones). However, this shows that there’s no hard feelings between the two parties. Not that he’s likely to return any time soon, though, as Whedon’s set to helm Victorian-set superhero show The Nevers and also has a hand in the Buffy reboot.

Listen To Indian Muslims' "Mann Ki Baat": Jama Masjid Shahi Imam To PM

Jama Masjid's Shahi Imam Syed Ahmed Bukhari on Friday expressed concerns over the "storm of hatred" in the country, and urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to listen to the 'Mann Ki Baat' of Muslims. Citing recent incidents like the Nuh riots and the killing of four persons by a railway police jawan on a running train, Ahmed Bukhari suggested in his Friday sermon at the historic mosque that PM Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah hold dialogue with intellectuals from the community. "I have been compelled to speak due to the existing situation in the country. The situation in the country is worrisome and a storm of hatred is posing grave danger to peace in the country," Ahmed Bukhari said. "You say your 'Mann Ki Baat' but you also need to listen to the 'Mann Ki Baat' of Muslims. The Muslims are troubled due to the prevailing conditions and worried about their future," Ahmed Bukhari said, referring to PM Modi's monthly radio pro...
