Centre throttling CAG to cover up corruption: Congress

The Congress party has accused the Modi government of trying to suppress the Comptroller General of India (CAG), an independent institution, by transferring out officers who exposed wrongdoing in government schemes. Congress spokesperson Pawan Khera claimed that three CAG officers who flagged issues in projects such as the Bharatmala Project and Ayushmann scheme were unceremoniously removed. Khera also alleged that CAG G C Murmu is under pressure and refusing to sign reports.
